How I spent my birthday:
-went to the Goodwill and found some more sweaters for our sweater coat project and some clay planters to plant flowers in.
-got some new library books
-drove over by Apex Community Park to look at the horses
-went to Pier one and bought some new (large) margarita glasses
-went to World Market and bought yummy dutch caramel wafers (YUM) and scented candles
-saw 3 more horse farms xxoo
-went to Bath and body works and got a ton of stuff for $21!!!
-chatted to friends and family on the phone
-out to dinner with my family and had a YUMMY Mango Mai Tai
-saw a beautiful rainbow on the way home
-butterfly release of the chosen one!
-strawberry creme cake and chocolate covered strawberries

I had a wonderful day!! Highlights were when the cashier checked my license and saw it was my birthday..she happily wished me a happy birthday. The male cashier at World Market said he recognized me b/c I have been in there before and how he remembers a beautiful face (LOL). And the cashiers at Bath and Body works were so nice and wished me a happy birthday too.

Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake Lure, Dupont Forest, hiking, Linville Falls, lots of waterfalls, Grandfather Mountain, scaling rock walls, Downtown Asheville, swim in the river, hot tub, fishing, Chimney Rock Park, canoe ride, FUDGE! oh my!

{when all you have is your phone!}

So I went to the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains for 4 days and we stayed at a Lake house, in the Rumbling Bald Resort on Lake Lure. The weather was perfect (80’s) and only cloudy one day. Here are some quick pics I took with my cell phone camera. I had to edit in PS, but it goes to show you that you don’t ALWAYS need a pro camera to capture special moments. (But my pro camera ROCKS!) Photos taken with the Samsung Galaxy S.

{Strawberries Galore!!}

Anyone who knows me knows how I LOVE strawberries!!! They are my favorite fruit, most berries are!! I love this time of year when we can pick fresh strawberries from the farm. The season started early this year, but with our hectic schedule this was the first time we made it to Porter Farms. It is about 5 minutes from our house and what a wonderful way to spend Mothers Day!
